Second Horn Repertoire and Audition Listing

The SFSO operates under a cooperative structure, where the musicians, staff, board, and management work together for the good of the entire organization. Musicians hold 7 seats on the Board of Directors. The SFSO produces 7 - 9 programs per season running from August or September through May. Approximately one concert set per month. The ranges of yearly salary for these positions are approximately $4000.00-$5000.00 for section players. Compensation follows the Local 618 Musicians Union Scale and Wages. Principal Pay for 2024-25 is $125.59 per service. The Santa Fe Symphony is not able to pay travel for out-of-town members.

It will be held until your audition and returned to you upon check in. It will only be deposited if you do not cancel your audition participation within 3 days of the audition date.

ABOUT US

The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra includes 65 professional musicians—all New Mexico residents. Our musicians have trained at esteemed conservatories such as Juilliard and Northwestern and have performed with globally recognized orchestras, including the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Our Music Director is Guillermo Figueroa. He is one of the most versatile and respected musical artists of his generation—renowned as conductor, violinist, violist, and concertmaster.

If you’re interested in being a part of this bold and successful collaboration between musicians and all who appreciate live performance, please check back often; we have auditions for various sections throughout the season. The Symphony operates under a cooperative structure, where the musicians, staff, board, and management work together for the good of the entire organization. Musicians hold seven seats on the Board of Directors. The Symphony produces 10 to 12 programs per season from September through May. Compensation is in compliance with the Local 618 Local Musicians Union Scale and Wages. The Santa Fe Symphony is a per service organization and is not able to pay travel for out-of-town players.
